The Incomparable Christ
The Incomparable Christ
“He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His strips we are healed." Isaiah 53:5

He came from the throne of the Father to the womb of a woman. He put on humanity that we might put on divinity He became Son of Man that we might become sons of God.
He was born in a supernatural way, lived in poverty, and was reared in obscurity. He had neither wealth nor influence, yet the wisdom of men has never matched His wisdom. Never has a man spoken like this Man.
His family was inconspicuous and un-influential. In fancy He startled a king. As a boy He stunned theologians with His knowledge and wisdom, for He was taught of God. In manhood He ruled the elements and quieted the raging sea. He healed the multitudes without medicine, and fed thousands from a boy’s lunch. Even demons obeyed Him and He gave back life to those who died.
He never wrote a book, yet none of the libraries of the world could contain the books that have been written about Him. He never wrote a song, yet He has furnished the theme of more songs than all song writers combined. He never founded a college, yet all the colleges together cannot boast of as many students as He has.
He never marshaled an army yet no leader ever had more volunteers.
Great men have come and gone, yet He lives on. Herod could not kill Him. Satan could not tempt Him to sin. Death could not destroy Him. The grave could not hold Him.
He laid aside His purple robe for a peasant’s gown. He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor. He slept in another’s manger; He rode on another’s donkey; He was buried in another’s grave.
He conquered death and rose on the third day as He said He would. He ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the throne of God.
One day He will return with power and great glory to judge the world when every knee shall bow to him and every tongue shall confess Him as Lord— His friends gladly, but His enemies seeking for a place to hide from His face.
He is the Perfect One, the only One who can satisfy the soul. He gives everlasting life to those who love Him and obey His commandments. He is altogether lovely, and He is my Savior.
To all who are ready to accept and believe Him, God gives these words of promise:
“As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” John 1:12
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

One Solitary Life
He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family or owned a home. He didn’t go to college. He never visited a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place where He was born.
He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself.
He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against Him His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to his enemies and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying-- His executioners gambled for His garments, the only property He had on earth. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend. Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched, All the navies that ever sailed, All the parliaments that ever sat, All the kings that ever reigned, put together, Have not affected the life of man on this earth, As much as that-- ~ONE SOLITARY LIFE~

Christ Is All We Need

(Author Unknown)

Our Matchless Christ
To many, Jesus Christ is only a grand subject for a painting, a heroic theme for a pen, a beautiful form for a statue and a tho’t for a song; but to those who have heard His voice, who have felt His pardon, who have received His benediction, He is music, warmth, light, joy, hope and salvation, a Friend who never forsakes, who lifts us when others try to push as down.
We cannot wear Him out, we pile on Him all our griefs and troubles. He is always ready to help us; He addresses with the same love; He beams upon us with the same smile; He pities us with the same compassion.
There is no name like His. It is more inspiring that Caesar’s, more musical than Beethoven’s, more conquering than Napoleon’s, more eloquent that Demosthene’s, more patient than Lincoln’s.
The Name of Jesus throbs with all life, weeps with all pathos, groans with all pains, stoops with all love. Its breath is laden with perfume.
Who like Jesus can pity a homeless orphan? Who like Jesus can welcome a prodigal back home? Who like Jesus can make a drunkard sober? Who like Jesus can illuminate a cemetery plowed with graves? None but our Matchless Christ!
~Billy Sunday~

Jesus, The Miracle Man
The Miracle Man! He came to us by a miracle and left by a miracle. His life was one continuous miracle.
He was so full of power that all know laws of nature were countered at His wish; so full of life that the grave could not keep Him so full of goodness that even the demons were forced to admit it; so great that years later one Augustine said of Him, “His life is lightening. His words are thunder!”
This Miracle Man is eternal in time, omnipotent in power omniscient in intellect, sovereign in His actions.
He is the Lord of Glory and the Lord of humanity Master of nature and Master of providence, the coming Judge and the coming King.
He is the only Hope of mankind, and the only Way to God; the Fountain of life; the Source of light, and the Author of liberty.
He is full of grace, and full of truth. He sealed His tremendous claims and demonstrated His position:
By constant manifestations of miraculous power, by a sinless life, by a sacrificial death and By His own resurrections for the dead.”
(~Fred J. Meldau)

Jesus, The Poor Man
Jesus was the poorest man who ever walked the dirt roads of earth Born in poverty and reared in obscurity. He yet lived to enrich mankind. A stable was His birthplace, a manger His cradle. For twenty years He worked as a carpenter in a poverty stricken and despised village which bore the scorn of man as they asked, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?”
He began His ministry at the Jordan River, with no organization to support Him, no patrons to enrich Him He publicly began a life of poverty that ended at the tomb. He preached without price, and wrought miracles without money. As far as we know, He never possessed the value of one dollar. How pathetic His words “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air their nests but the Son of Man hath not where to lay His head.”
He was an itinerant preacher whose parish was the world. When invited, He entered men’s homes for dinner. He fed from His hands as He walked through fields of corn. His support came from the gifts of a few women and His treasurer stole part of the pittance put therein.
He walked all over the hills of Judea and by the waters of Galilee enriching men, Himself the poorest of all. He slept often under the open sky, in the wilderness without food by Jacob’s well without water, in the crowded city without a home. Thus He lived and loved, toiled and died. His value was thirty pieces of silver when sold the price of a slave, the lowest estimate of human life.
So poor was he that He needs must carry His own cross through the city until, fainting, He fell. He was nailed to that cross between two thieves, stripped of His robe, the gift of love for which inhuman soldiers gambled as He died.
With no estate with which to endow His weeping and widowed mother, He bequeathed her to the love of the beloved John. Then He gave His peace to the disciples, His pardon to the thief, His life for the world, His body to the cross, and His spirit to God.
His burial clothes were the gift of a friend, He was laid at last in a borrowed grave. But He arose again, our Saviour.
Truly, Jesus Christ was the poorest man that ever walked the dirt roads of earth. Though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor, that we, through his poverty might become rich. (~Author Unknown)

Jesus: Do You Know Him
"But what about you?" he asked.
"Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
The Bible says my King is the King of the Jews … He's the King of Israel. He's the King of Righteousness.
He's the King of the Ages. He's the King of Heaven. He's the King of Glory. He's the King of Kings, and He's the Lord of Lords. That's my King!
I wonder do you know Him? My King is a sovereign King. No means of measure can define His limitless love. He's enduringly strong. He's entirely sincere. He's eternally steadfast. He's immortally graceful. He's imperially powerful. He's impartially merciful.
Do you know Him? He's the greatest phenomenon that has ever crossed the horizon of this world He's God's Son, He's the sinners Savior, He's the centerpiece of civilization, He's unparalleled, He's unprecedented.
He's the loftiest idea in literature. He's the highest personality in philosophy. He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology. He's the only one qualified to be an all sufficient Savior. I wonder if you know Him today? He supplies strength for the weak. He's available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He strengthens and sustains. He guards and He guides. He heals the sick. He cleansed the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent. And he beautifies the meek.
I wonder if you know Him? He's the key to knowledge. He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway of peace. He's the roadway of righteousness. He's the highway of holiness. He's the gateway of glory.
Do you know Him? Well, His life is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His Word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous and His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
I wish I could describe Him to you. Yes, He's indescribable. He's incomprehensible. He's invincible. He's irresistible. You can't get him out of your mind. You can't get him off of your hand. You can't outlive him and you can't live without Him. Well, the Pharisees couldn't stand Him. But they found out they couldn't stop Him. Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him. Herod couldn't kill him. Death couldn't handle Him, and the grave couldn't hold Him. Yea! That's my King.
("That's My King" by the late S.M. Lockridge)

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:12)
