I'll Be Back
"Our Lord is returning, O shout hallelujah,
our Blessed Redeemer is coming again
and when we shall see Him,
the King in His Beauty...A joyful shout will then ring out,
He comes to Reign!"
“I Shall Return”
“This same Jesus…
shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go.” (Acts 1:11)
When General Douglas MacArthur left the Philippines in the early months of World war II
he fled Corregidor in apparent defeat.
But he said "I SHALL RETURN!”
And he kept his promise, for 3 years later he stood on Philippine soil and proclaimed
his second historic statement, “I HAVE RETURNED!”
This suggests another scene, one of far greater significance for mankind.
A little over 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ came to this earth, stayed for a short time, and then returned to heaven.
Just before He went to the cross and suffered what appeared to be a tragic end to His brief
He said to His disciples, “I Will Come Again.
He was not referring to His resurrection, but to a later event, the hour of
which was known only to the Father.
After He ascended on high, the first message sent back to earth was the promise,
“This Same Jesus…..shall so come in like manner.”
And the closing statement of the Bible is an affirmation of this sacred pledge. (Revelation 22:20)
This second coming of Christ is called “That Blessed Hope” (Titus 2:13)
It is not only a blessed hope for the Christian, but it is the only hope for this old world with all its problems.
Every effort of man to bring about a golden age of universal peace and prosperity is doomed to failure.
That day will come only when Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, returns to this earth
to rule and reign in perfect righteousness!
We know not when that day will be,
but we do know that He will return—
It could be today!
Marvelous message we bring,
Glorious carol we sing,
Wonderful word of the King;
Jesus Is Coming Again.
What glory it will be when the motto
PERHAPS TODAY
Can be changed by dropping the word
PERHAPS.
Are you looking?
Are You Listening?
“Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven: This same Jesus which is taken u
from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20) (-M.R. De Haan)

Christ Returneth
It may be morn when the day is awak-ing
When sunlight thru darkness and shadow is breaking,
That Jesus will come in the fullness of glory
To receive from the world “His own.”
It may be at mid-day, it may be a twilight,
It may be perchance, that the blackness of midnight
Will burst into light in the blaze of His glory,
When Jesus receives “His own.”
Oh, joy, oh delight! Should we go without dying,
No sickness, no sadness, no dread and no crying,
Caught up through the clouds with our Lord into glory
When Jesus receives “His own.”

The Two Comings Of Christ
A Contrast
When Christ comes the second time it shall not be as it was on His first advent.
He came the first time to die in the sinner’s place.
He is coming the second time to execute judgment on the sinner.
He came the first time to seek and to save that which was lost.
He is coming the second time “in flaming fire to execute judgment on all them that know not God.”
He came the first time to be man’s representative before a God of love and grace.
He is coming the second time as God’s representative against a rebellious world
He came the first time in great humility;
He is coming the second time in great power and glory.
He came the first time as the lowly Nazarene;
He is coming the second time as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
He came the first time to wear the crown of thorns;
He is coming the second time to wear the crown of glory.
He came the first time to be “despised and rejected of men.”
He is coming the second time to be acknowledged by all, both high and low, rich and poor,
bond and free.
He came the first time to ride the lowly ass into Jerusalem.
He is coming the second time to ride the great white horse, leading the armies of heaven.
He came the first time to submit to the unjust judgment of earthly potentates.
He is coming the second time to compel all earthly rulers to yield their scepters to Him.
He came the first time to shed His blood on the cross.
He is coming again as the mighty Conqueror whose “vesture is dipped in blood.”
He came the first time to save men from a devil’s hell.
He comes the second time to say to all the workers of iniquity, “Depart ye, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels.”
(--From “The Soon Coming of Our Lord")

Second-Coming Watchfulness
Around the dial of a church clock in Strasbourg, France, are the words:
“One of these hours the Lord is coming!”
This is an arresting thought. Not only has Christ promised to return suddenly, but He also
expects us as believers to be waiting and eagerly watching for that blessed day.
Mary Harris has written the following poetic thoughts on that thrilling and momentous event:
I get so very weary
With the trials of the day—
The foolish things that people do,
The empty things they say;
The only thing that cheers me,
Keeps the tears from flowing free,
Is the fact that Christ, my Savior,
Is coming soon for me.
I’m hoping, trusting, waiting
For that wondrous, happy day
When “we shall meet Him in the air”
And go with him to stay.
And will it not be glorious, then,
A life all free from care?
O how I pray it will be soon
He’ll come to take me there!
Oh, if only you once would grasp the reality of the truth of Christ’s return,
it would revolutionize your attitudes and actions.
Then, you will experience the joy, the comfort, and the spur
to spiritual service that accompanies second-coming watchfulness!
O thou long-expected Jesus,
Waits my anxious soul for thee,
Life is dark, and earth is dreary;
When wilt Thou return for me?
“Watch, therefore; for ye know neither the day nor the hour
in which the son of man cometh.” (Matthew 25:13)
A Christian should be an expectant Uplooker,
Not a sleepy Onlooker!

I’ll Be Back
One day in Heaven, the Savior said, “Good-Bye” As He started on His journey, the holy angels cried
He turned to face His Father this they heard Him say,“Mankind owes a debt below that only I can pay
But I’ll be back- I’ll be back I’ll be gone for a little while- One day I’m coming back, I’ll be back.”
On His way to Jerusalem, Jesus told His men “You’ll see the Son betrayed there -
There I’ll be condemned-you’ll see them mock And curse Me,
you’ll see me crucified,You’ll see me suffer agony and there you’ll see me die
But I’ll be back, I’ll be back. Just a few short days then I’ll be back.”
And after they laid my sweet Jesus in the tomb He got up And took a trip down below and showed
the devil that he Had lost the battle for man’s soul and I believe that as He too
the keys He looked the devil right in the eye He said,
“The grave could not hold me - I‘m headed back to Glory So devil keep this in mind-
l be back.
One day on a hillside as Jesus rose up in the clouds the Words He spoke came
flooding back to some young men in the crowd He said,
“I go to prepare a place, but I’ll be back again
-Gonna take my people to a land where joy shall never end ‘Cause I’ll be
I’ll be back I’ll just be gone for a little while One day I’m coming back, I’ll be back.
(Words and Music by Michael Combs)
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up;
and a cloud stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee
why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus which is
taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner
Some golden day-break, Jesus will come;
Some golden day-break, battles all won,.
He’ll shout the vict’ry, break thro’ the blue
Some golden day-break, for me, for you.
Oh, what a meeting, there in the skies,
No tears nor crying shall dim our eyes;
Loved ones united eternally,
Oh what a day-break that morn will be.
When we see Jesus coming in glory;
When He comes from His home in the sky,
Then we shall meet Him in that bright mansion;
All by and by.
